ออท.เยือนรัฐควีนส์แลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการ
วันที่ 21-24 มีนาคม 2559 นายจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา นางกมลวรรณ สัตยายุทย์ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายการศึกษา และนายภาวัสส์ เรืองวิชาธร เลขานุการเอก เดินทางเยือนรัฐควีนส์แลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการ (นครบริสเบนและเมืองทาวน์สวิลล์) ตามคำเชิญของรัฐบาลรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ โดยมีนาย Andrew Park กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ประจำนครบริสเบนเข้าร่วมกำหนดการด้วย
ในโอกาสการเยือนรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ เอกอัครราชทูตจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ ได้พบหารือกับผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานรัฐบาลต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ H.E. Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland - Graham Quirk, Lord Mayor of Brisbane - Catherine Holmes, Chief of Justice of Queensland - Tony Knight, Chief Queensland Geologist - Michelle Wade, General Manager, Trade and Investment Queensland - Lawrence Springborg, Leader of the Opposition - Peter Wellington, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland - Grace Grace, Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Minister for Racing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs - คณะผู้บริหารของ Department of Education and Training International โดยได้หารือข้อราชการ และแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ ตลอดจนลู่ทางการเพิ่มความร่วมมือในอนาคต ในหลายประเด็น อาทิ การค้าการลงทุน ความร่วมมือด้านพลังงาน ด้านการศึกษา วัฒนธรรม สวัสดิภาพของคนไทยในรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ รวมทั้งได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นกับคณะผู้บริหารของ University of Queensland, Griffith University, University of Southern Queensland และ James Cook University ที่เมืองทาวน์สวิลล์ เกี่ยวกับหลักสูตรที่อาจเป็นประโยชน์กับนักศึกษาไทย สวัสดิภาพของนักศึกษาไทย รวมถึงนักเรียนทุนรัฐบาลไทย และการส่งนักศึกษาออสเตรเลียไปแลกเปลี่ยนและฝึกงานในไทย ภายใต้ New Colombo Plan
ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้พบหารือและร่วมรับประทานอาหารกับชุมชนชาวไทยในนครบริสเบนและเมืองทาวน์สวิลล์ และกลุ่มสื่อมวลชนไทยในพื้นที่ รวมทั้งได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมท่าเรือและฟาร์มให้อาหารโคเนื้อ (feedlot) ที่เมืองทาวน์สวิลล์ตามคำเชิญของ Ewen Jones, Federal Member for Herbert (ส.ส.เมืองทาวน์สวิลล์)
Official visit to Queensland
During 21-24 March 2016, H.E. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand, Ms. Kamonwan Sattayayut, Minister Counsellor (Education) and Mr. Pawat Ruangvichatron, First Secretary, travelled to Brisbane and Townsville on an official visit to the State of Queensland. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Andrew Park, Honorary Consul of Thailand to Brisbane (Queensland).
During the official visit, the Ambassador met with H.E. Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland - Graham Quirk, Lord Mayor of Brisbane - Catherine Holmes, Chief of Justice of Queensland - Tony Knight, Chief Queensland Geologist - Michelle Wade, General Manager, Trade and Investment Queensland - Lawrence Springborg, Leader of the Opposition - Peter Wellington, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland - Grace Grace, Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Minister for Racing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs – Representatives from the Department of Education and Training International. Topics crucial to the strengthening and enhancing of the relations between Thailand and Queensland were extensively discussed during the various meetings including trade and investment, energy cooperation, education, cultural and the wellbeing of the Thai community in Queensland.
The Ambassador also had a meeting with representatives from University of Queensland, Griffith University, University of Southern Queensland and James Cook University in Townsville to discuss a wide range of issues including the welfare of Thai students, including the Thai Government Scholarship students and the students exchange and internships programs in Thailand under the New Colombo Plan.
During the visit, the Ambassador also met the Thai community in Brisbane and Townsville, as well as the media representatives in the region. While in Townsville, Ambassador visited the Port of Townsville and a local Feedlot, the trip was kindly arranged by Ewen Jones, Federal Member for Herbert.
