The Thai-Australian Association of Queensland has financially supported Samarnmittra Interstate Games which has been held every year by student organizations in the five main cities in Australia (Canberra, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and Brisbane), which alternately act as hosts. Such event was first started by HRH the Crown Prince of Thailand in 1971 and has been carried on forward for the past 45 years. Samarnmittra Interstate Game became a great tradition for all Thai students in Australia. The main activities include 5 sports, which are badminton, basketball, futsal, chair-ball, and volleyball. On the second night, there will be a social event known as the ‘Thai Night of Samarnmittra’. This event will be arranged in order to provide dinner and entertainment for participants.
